When the Amazon Appstore launched, we were excited that BuzzVoice made the cut as one of the first apps in their line up.
To our excitement, Amazon just reached out to us to tell us they’re now featuring BuzzVoice on the front page of the Amazon Appstore. Apparently, Amazon sees the “Siri-like” goodness that BuzzVoice brings to busy mobile news consumers.
App stores seem to be popping up everywhere. In addition to the “traditional” app stores, wireless carriers and third parties are opening app stores too.
GetJar has its independent appstore, AT&T has a recommended apps section on its smartphones, and Verizon has it’s V CAST Appstore (which features a Verizon-branded version of BuzzVoice “on the deck” – thank you Verizon).
Today, Amazon brought the new Amazon Appstore live, and we’re excited to say that BuzzVoice is one of the first apps in the store. The store, which features just over 3,800 Android apps is now available in 2 flavors: you can access the store on your computer at Amazon.com, or, you can access it on your Android device.
As you may know, we recently announced our new white label smartphone app solution, which allows publishers and wireless carriers to easily launch apps with our award-winning functionality.
After partnering with Cincinnati Bell to give their wireless customers a better mobile news experience, we learned that Verizon was hosting a contest to find the best new apps for their V CAST app store.
So, to meet the mobile news needs of Verizon’s customers, we tapped into our white label tool box and quickly created the V CAST Talking News app, which we just learned Verizon is featuring on their contest site.
We’d love to hear what you think of the new V CAST Talking News app. And, if you’re a developer, please head on over to the Verizon site to cast your vote today. If the Verizon iPhone rumor turns out to be true, we may launch a version of the V CAST Talking News app for it as well.

At the Apple Event in San Francisco, Steve Jobs unveiled the company’s long-awaited tablet named “The iPad.”
The 9.7 inch multi-touch device offers Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, weighs in at just 1.5 pounds, and sports a full 10 hour battery life.
And since the iPad runs the iPhone operating system, it will offer functionality similar to the iPhone and iPod touch, including the ability to run “most” apps from Apple’s App Store.Â
When the iPad goes on sale in March- at a surprisingly low price of $499 - BuzzVoice will run on the revolutionary new device, allowing you to stream audio versions of breaking stories from the web’s top 1,400+ blogs and news sites.
Lastly, for development on The iPad, Apple announced the availability of a new software development kit that will allow us to optimize BuzzVoice for The iPad. Stay tuned for more exciting features!
