BuzzVoice Announces Real-Time Audio Platform For Publishers [Private Beta Launch]

Email Publishers@BuzzVoice.comNew Service Lets Bloggers and News Sites Offer Streaming Audio of Their Text Content To Engage Multitaskers On Their Sites & On The Social Web

Austin, TX,  March 15, 2010 – BuzzVoice today announced that it has entered private beta with bloggers and news sites for its new “Real-time Radio” service. By installing a simple widget on their sites, publishers can leverage the BuzzVoice platform to instantly offer a streaming audio channel of breaking text stories to their audiences.

Through the voice-powered widget, visitors can listen to continuous stories while multitasking on the publisher’s site, post the widget to Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and other social sites, or listen on the go on iPhones, iPods, iPads, MP3 players and other mobile devices.

A team of social media and news industry advisors including Chris Brogan, Jason Falls, James Jackson of Enquirer Media/Gannett and others helped shape the new service, which helps publishers increase engagement while promoting their content on the social web.

According to Falls, the new service “allows your blog or news site to become a streaming radio station, of sorts. My community can now stream my content live, subscribe to it in iTunes, access it via the BuzzVoice iPhone app and even grab my widget to share on other sites.”

BuzzVoice CEO John Atkinson states, “We’re excited to give bloggers and publishers a new way to distribute their content and expand their presence on the social web. In addition to reaching busy consumers, our Real-time Radio service also allows publishers to make their content accessible to the visually impaired and people with dyslexia and other learning difficulties.”

*To request a private beta invitation and enter to win a free iPad, email your site’s URL to: Publishers@BuzzVoice.com

*See It Live: BuzzVoice will be demonstrating the new service at the South by Southwest Conference in Austin this week. To schedule a demo, email Press@BuzzVoice.com

BuzzVoice Will Run On Apple’s New iPad Tablet

The iPad featuring BuzzVoiceListen with BuzzVoiceAt the Apple Event in San Francisco, Steve Jobs unveiled the company’s long-awaited tablet named “The iPad.”

The 9.7 inch multi-touch device offers Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, weighs in at just 1.5 pounds, and sports a full 10 hour battery life.

MacWorld Gives BuzzVoice iPhone App 4 Stars, “A Productivity Enhancer”

Listen with BuzzVoiceMacworldReview2PicRound

MacWorld, a leading source on all things Apple and iPhone, recently reviewed the new BuzzVoice iPhone app. And, we’re very pleased with their 4-Star rating.

The following are a few excerpts from MacWorld’s review:

“BuzzVoice is a time saver and a productivity enhancer that lets you create playlists of news and blogs to listen to while on the go… The new news service launched in September, and it’s on sale for 2 dollars as of this writing.

The name isn’t the only big change. BuzzVoice gives you more options. You can now choose from among more than 1,400 news sites and weblogs. You can view any story’s original text, along with images and video. More important, BuzzVoice increased the number of feeds you can stream from 10 to 50.

And what was the app’s most appealing feature before, is now even more appealing: A personalized daily podcast, which once rounded up your 10 favorite news feeds in a short 10-minute newscast, now comes in an expanded 30-minute version with a monthly paid subscription to BuzzVoice’s “Pro” service. (Another benefit of going “Pro”: You can choose the sex of the robot voice that reads your news.)

A new “BuzzRadio” tab lets you stream news more or less continuously. Or, you can also browse your feeds and listen to stories one at a time.  These new features and improvements are arguably worth the $4 monthly subscription price.”
